How to choose the right large handbag for your body shape

How hard can it be. Find the bag you like and buy. There's nothing wrong with that, hundreds of thousands of women do this everyday - but is this all there is to it?

A large handbag is more thanjust a place to put everything in. It's a style accessoriy and the type of handbag you have not only says a lot about you, but different bag types suit different body shapes and styles.

An oversize bag can really suit all body types, not just the advertised tall and skinny body types. You have to ensure the style, position it sits on the body and sometimes even colour is complimentary for you.

You would wear stripes if you were of a larger figure size as this can draw attention.

Here are some of our tips:

1. Fuller Hips

If you have a fuller figure you would be best to go for a larger handbag with shorter straps or handles. This makes sure your handbag sits above your hips and draws attention to the upper level of your body.

An example of such a bag is our large black shoulder bag

2. Fuller Upper Body

For those women will fuller upper bodies you may want to ensure your large handbag has longer straps with a little detail drawiing attention away from your upper body and towards your mid-section.

A bag with a larger strap is our Sienna Rose Real Leather Large Handbag

3. Fuller Figure

Try to choose a large, plain and simple handbag, prefreably with shorter straps.

Also for fuller figure ladies it's best to stick to neutral tone bag rather than florally or a large handbag with more detail.

An example of such large handbag is our Anaphora Black Leather Handbag

4. Skinny Figure

For ladies with a more skinny or straighter body shape it's important not to go too oversized but with a handle size allowing the handbag to sit towards, and accentuating, your hips.

Our Black Slouch Bag would be an option
